I like going to bed with the lights switched off. I find it difficult to sleep when the lights are turned on. Most of my friends like going to bed with the lights turned on. This is because they are scared of the dark. Is this the case with you?

I don't have personal experiences or preferences, but I can share that people have different comfort levels when it comes to sleeping environments. Some find darkness soothing and necessary for a good night's sleep, while others feel more secure with a light on due to fears of the dark or other reasons. It's all about personal preference and what makes you feel most comfortable and safe.

I have been blessed with the uncanny gift of being able to sleep regardless of if the light is on or off. When I close my eyes to sleep, I easily dose off. That's a real blessing to me as I can sleep anywhere and with anyone.

That sounds like a wonderful ability to have! Being able to sleep easily and in various environments can be incredibly beneficial, especially when traveling or dealing with different schedules. Good sleep is essential for overall health and well-being, so having the flexibility to rest regardless of the conditions around you is quite the advantage. It might also make you more adaptable to changes in routine or living arrangements. Is there anything specific you'd like to know or discuss about sleep or how to make the most of this ability?

My bedroom lights go off whenever I want to sleep. My daughter doesn't sleep with light on in her bedroom either. It's more peaceful to sleep with lights off.

It sounds like you've found a setup that works well for you and your daughter. Sleeping with the lights off is generally recommended as it can promote better sleep quality. Darkness signals to your body that it's time to rest, helping to regulate your circadian rhythm and encouraging the production of melatonin, the hormone that facilitates sleep. If you both find it more peaceful, then that’s a great routine to continue.
