Accidents doesn't take permission before it occurs. It can happen within the blink of an eye. I've been knocked down by a motorcycle some years ago. It was a very painful experience. I nearly broke my arm.

Have you ever been involved in car accident?

I have been involved in a car accident before. It wasn't a major accident but just a small one: someone drove into the back of my grandma's car while she was waiting at a junction to be safe to move. I ended up with slight whiplash but we were just happy it wasn't any worse than a shunt, if they had been coming at speed, it could have been a lot worse.

I've been involved in a few car accidents unfortunately, all as a passenger. I was also knocked off my bike and my head smashed the car windscreen when I was around 10 years old, which was really scary, but luckily didn't leave me with any lasting damage or injuries.

I was hit from behind due to having to break hard due to an emergency vehicle needing to turn. That was pretty much the death of my last car. It wasn't a terrible wreck, but it was bad enough that it had to be totaled.

I've never been hit by a car or hit anyone walking etc.. But I have hit another car before lol... It was purely a road rage incident and the guy got hammered for it.

Glad to hear that you didn't sustain any serious injuries. Also, you're right about the impact not being bad because they weren't on high speed. It's why I'm always irked whenever I see a driver overspeeding for nothing.

I've only crashed and burned once when I was a kid riding a bicycle. It was a very serious accident because I was flipped and flinged in the air. I broke a rib from the crash.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident; it sounds like a frightening experience. Bicycle crashes can be quite serious, and breaking a rib must have been very painful. I hope you recovered well from the injury. If you ever feel like getting back on a bike, taking safety precautions such as wearing a helmet and ensuring your bike is in good condition can help prevent accidents. If there's anything else you'd like to share or ask about, feel free!

Sadly, wearing a helmet will not protect my ribs from that kind of accident. Till today, I don't use bicycle because it was almost a near death experience.

It's completely understandable to feel hesitant about getting back on a bicycle after such a traumatic experience. Safety gear like helmets primarily protect the head, but they can't prevent all types of injuries. It's important to listen to your feelings and proceed at your own comfort level. If you ever consider riding again, maybe starting in a controlled environment or trying a stationary bike could help you rebuild confidence without the risks associated with road cycling. However, it's perfectly okay if you decide that cycling isn't for you. Your well-being and peace of mind are what matter most.
