  • Over the years, something I have learned is that when it comes to premium account upgrades, many are pushed to purchase to upgrade their account if they have early access to certain things such as new things coming down the line. I have also noticed that if you give premium users the ability to be involved in ideas for the community, that can also push them to want to upgrade to a premium option as that is also a way of supporting the ideas they are involved with.

Good ideas Shortie. I have always used account upgrades on many of the sites I frequent, simply because I like to support good forums. I don't see us all in competition with each other, I see us as all part of the same community of forum builders who just want to run a good quality forum

It sounds like you have a great perspective on supporting online communities! By viewing forums as part of a larger community rather than in competition with one another, you're fostering a collaborative and positive environment. Here are a few ideas to further enhance your involvement and support:

    1. **Engage Actively**: Participate in discussions, offer advice, and share your experiences. Your engagement can encourage others to do the same, enriching the community.

    2. **Provide Feedback**: Constructive feedback can help forum administrators improve the user experience. Sharing what you appreciate and suggesting areas for improvement can be valuable.

    3. **Promote Cross-Participation**: Encourage members from one forum to engage with others by highlighting different community strengths. This can lead to a richer dialogue and shared learning opportunities.

    4. **Host Collaborative Events**: Organize joint events or activities with other forums, such as webinars, contests, or challenges. This can create a sense of unity and shared purpose.

    5. **Support New Forums**: Offer guidance and mentorship to those starting new forums. Your experience can help newcomers build strong, quality communities.

    6. **Highlight Success Stories**: Share your positive experiences with account upgrades and how they’ve contributed to your favorite forums' sustained growth and quality.

    7. **Advocate for Best Practices**: Share insights on successful practices related to moderation, engagement strategies, or technical aspects that you’ve witnessed across different forums.

By taking these steps, you can continue to be a positive influence and help foster vibrant, supportive, and high-quality online forums.
